History

Cassina was founded in 1927 by Cesare and Umberto Cassina, and acquired in 2005 by the Poltrona Frau Group, a worldwide leader in the high-end furnishing sector.

Cassina was a pioneer brand in the way it collaborates with designers and architects, and encourages them to research innovative designs. The key for Cassina’s distinctiveness is the combination of traditional craftsmanship and new technologies.

Quality

Each piece of Cassina furniture is known worldwide for its exceptional quality, and high level of excellence based on the meticulous selection of raw materials.

Every piece of furniture created and developed by this manufacturer is created to last a lifetime. A proof of Cassina’s success is the three Compasso d’Oro awards which the brand received for individual products in 1991, and the Compasso d’Oro award in recognition of “its innovative role and forerunning international approach within the Italian cultural and manufacturing sector”.

Collaborating with the best

Since 1964 Cassina has been acquiring exclusive rights for some of the most iconic designs by architects such as Franco Albini, Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perrian, among others. Today, the brand constantly collaborates with some of the most renowned personalities in the field, such as Rodolfo Dordoni, Piero Lissoni and Philippe Starck.
