Concrete Reception Desk

Custom Made Concrete Reception Desks

A custom made Concrete Reception Desk is an impressive piece of furniture to have for your business entrance. Customised and designed to your requirements, we can assist in making a concrete reception desk that expresses the ethos and professionalism of your business.

You can either choose the concerete reception counter as pictured here, or work with us to create your own polished and bespoke made to measure concrete desk.

Our specialist artisans use techniques similar to that of sculptors by shaping your custom designed reception desk using Styrofoam until its perfect, then making a mould we cast your reception counter using a concrete and sand mixture. Then to finish the reception desk we polish and fit it with modern technology, incorporating access points to allow cable management for telecommunications equipment and data points..

Apres Concrete Reception Desks can also be finished with leather and glass on the desktop and counter top if specified.

Concrete Reception Desk

Bespoke concrete reception desks

To prepare a made-to-measure requirement, share the approximate size and shape, signage, storage, power and data, room constraints, access and programme with one of our experienced project consultants.

A desk made in real concrete

This reception desk is handmade in real C30/37 concrete. The material is a mix of cement, aggregate, dispersed reinforcement and additives, and it is worked by hand rather than moulded to a uniform industrial finish.

Natural variation is part of the material

Colour and texture vary naturally across a concrete surface. Small air bubbles and surface voids are a normal feature of the material, and colour can differ between batches or with temperature and humidity. These characteristics are inherent to real concrete rather than defects, and they are why no two pieces look identical.

How the bespoke process works

The desk is made to your requirements. You tell us the approximate size and shape you have in mind, whether signage is to be incorporated, what storage the desk needs, and what power and data it has to carry. We design the piece around those requirements and manufacture it in real concrete.

Planning the reception area

Plan the desk with the room and the people who will use it. Share the entrance and reception dimensions, visitor route, staff tasks, storage needs, signage position, power and data points, and any requirement for equipment behind the desk. Also identify access constraints such as loading arrangements, lift sizes, stairs and door widths. Exact dimensions, clearances and configurations must be confirmed for the proposed design rather than inferred from the photographs.

Preparing for a quotation

There is no public product price. Share the approximate size and shape, concrete requirement, signage, storage, power and data, site access and programme through Request a price so the requirement can be reviewed and a quotation prepared. Do not treat a wider workplace-project cost or another supplier’s price as the price of this desk.

Programme, installation and aftercare

Bespoke timing depends on the final specification and manufacturer. The general planning bands of 4 to 8 weeks for standard manufactured furniture and 8 to 12 weeks for specialist or larger projects are not a product availability promise for this desk. Installation dates follow agreed supplier production schedules.

Depending on the project and confirmed design, installation may include coordination for restricted access, multi-floor, phased or out-of-hours work and final handover. The product carries the relevant manufacturer’s commercial warranty. Après remains your main contact and coordinates any remedy with the manufacturer where required.

Concrete tables

The same model applies to concrete tables. If you need a table rather than a reception desk, the process is the same: you describe the requirement and we design and manufacture the piece in real concrete.

Looking after a concrete surface

Concrete needs gentle care.

  • Avoid heavy or sharp impact on the surface.
  • Remove any substance from the surface promptly, without rubbing it in.
  • Dust the surface in a way that does not scratch it.
  • Clean only with a soft sponge, brush or microfibre cloth, lukewarm water and a delicate cleaner.
  • Do not use abrasive tools or aggressive cleaners.

Frequently asked questions

Is this desk made from real concrete?

Yes. It is handmade in real C30/37 concrete, made up of cement, aggregate, dispersed reinforcement and additives.

Will the colour and texture be completely uniform?

No, and that is expected. Colour and texture vary naturally in concrete, small air bubbles and surface voids can appear, and colour can differ between batches or with temperature and humidity. These are characteristics of the material rather than faults.

Can the desk be made to our own requirements?

Yes. Tell us the approximate size and shape you want, whether signage is to be incorporated, what storage you need and what power and data the desk has to carry. We design the desk around those requirements and manufacture it in real concrete.

How should a concrete surface be cleaned and cared for?

Gently. Avoid heavy or sharp impact, remove substances promptly without rubbing them in, and dust in a way that does not scratch the surface. Clean only with a soft sponge, brush or microfibre cloth, lukewarm water and a delicate cleaner, and never use abrasive tools or aggressive cleaners.

Do you make concrete tables as well as reception desks?

Yes. The same model applies to concrete tables, with the piece designed and manufactured in real concrete around the requirements you describe.

What room and access information should we share?

Share the room dimensions, visitor route, staff tasks, equipment, site access and the dates that matter. Include loading arrangements, lift sizes, stairs and door widths where they may affect delivery. The existing product questions cover the approximate desk size and shape, signage, storage, power and data.

What information helps prepare a quotation?

There is no public product price. Share the approximate size and shape, concrete requirement, signage, storage, power and data, delivery access and programme so the requirement can be reviewed and a quotation prepared.

How are delivery and installation planned?

Planning considers the agreed design, supplier production schedule, loading arrangements, lift sizes, stairs, door widths and the route into the reception area. The applicable method and date are confirmed for the project rather than promised from the catalogue page.

What warranty and aftercare apply?

The desk carries the relevant manufacturer's commercial warranty. Après remains your main contact and coordinates any remedy with the manufacturer where required.
