A British office furniture manufacturing group.
Tangent, which includes Ofquest, is a market leading British office furniture manufacturer. Their manufacturing heritage stretches back over 30 years, anticipating the changing trends in the ways of working and technological advances.
At Tangent's manufacturing facility, located in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire, all the products are manufactured according to the highest standards.
Tangent purchases timber products that are sourced only from sustainably managed forests. To qualify, the wood cannot be harvested faster than it is replenished. As a member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), it is Tangent's policy to avoid using wood that has been harvested outside this certification and audit process. Tangent have a chain of custody procedure to ensure compliance with FSC certification, and source wood from FSC certified forests.
In addition, Tangent have reduced to zero the quantity of solid and veneer woods used in furniture production. The only timber material in Tangent Furniture is FSC certified core particle board, which itself is an excellent use of the parts of the tree that would otherwise go to waste.
This manufacturer also makes extremely good use of waste material generated in the production process: for example all usable board offcuts are recycled and used for screen panels.
Since 1992, Tangent have consistently achieved and maintained the requirements for ISO 9001: 2008, the International Standard for Quality Management System (QMS).
Tangent is not only committed to producing quality products but also to protecting the environment avoiding waste. The environmental policies implemented by Tangent also led them to achieve the ISO 14001: 2004 certification (International Standard for Environmental Management Systems, EMS), since 1997.
