Pledge Office Chairs was established in May 1970 by David Carter, Pledge Managing Director, with the objective of being a manufacturer specialised in the production of swivel adjustable office seating.
Quality office seating is not just about aesthetic appeal. The solid structure of a company is the most important part of manufacturing. With over 42 years in business, Pledge built strong foundations that have allowed it to grow in size and capacity, having a highly skilled staff and a strong sales team.
Initially based in a 180 m2 premises, only, employing ten people, Pledge expanded over the years and it is today based in a manufacturing area with over 14,000 m2, employing 165 people. From the current site, seating is designed, produced and distributed by Pledge’s own maintained fleet of liveried delivery vehicles.
Nevertheless, Pledge Office Chairs approach to sustainability means operating and growing the business in such a way that meets the needs of the present whilst conserving resources for future generations. Pledge is confident of having an environmental policy which commits the company to reducing waste and energy. The aim is to ensure that the company is run in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner with the minimum amount of impact to the environment.
