Greener future

Tangent purchases timber products that are sourced only from sustainably managed forests. To qualify, the wood cannot be harvested faster than it is replenished. As a member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), it is Tangent's policy to avoid using wood that has been harvested outside this certification and audit process. Tangent have a chain of custody procedure to ensure compliance with FSC certification, and source wood from FSC certified forests.

In addition, Tangent have reduced to zero the quantity of solid and veneer woods used in furniture production. The only timber material in Tangent Furniture is FSC certified core particle board, which itself is an excellent use of the parts of the tree that would otherwise go to waste.

This manufacturer also makes extremely good use of waste material generated in the production process: for example all usable board offcuts are recycled and used for screen panels.
