Modular Suita Sofa by Antonio Citterio

Suita Sofa takes the classic lounge sofa and gives it a contemporary, lightweight, yet industrial and technical feel. The geometrical, clear lines of the body and the soft-worked puddings seem to float on top of the bridge-like feet made of polished aluminium. With their rounded form, these feet can be considered to pay homage to American mid-century design. Suita Sofa combines modernity with timelessness in the same way that other classic pieces of furniture do.

In the tradition of an Eames or a Nelson, Suita sofa has scaled down the construction of the body and kept it to a minimum. The technical strengths are therefore clearly visible. A frame made from welded and banded steel tubing is provided with a thin layer of moulded polyurethane foam and then padded; the expressive feet made of die-cast aluminium create a system that allows for various configurations as well as the possibility of adding shelves or high backrest components.

The feet are made of polished aluminium, and come in black or white. The shelves, which come in black or white, are lined with linoleum.
