Nigel Coates Designer Bentwood Chair

Lehnstuhl Chair is the creation of British designer Nigel Coates.

The Lehnstuhl Bentwood Chair offers a classic designer seating solution for the 21st century. Its four extended curved elements combine easily, drawing a graphic composition, almost as if suspended in space. A great option as an elegant designer lounge armchair or leisure chair for the home environment.

The frame of Lehnstuhl is made with steam-bent beech with the seat and back made from Viennese cane. Available in white or black frames.

Speaking with Après Furniture, designer Nigel Coates said of the Lehnstuhl Chair: "the Lehnstuhl range was quite challenging because it looks like there aren’t any rules, but of course there are. It’s about studying the language of something that has a technical limitation as well as an aesthetic. I threw myself into what the evolution of bentwood chairs had been and how we could look at that. It was quite a challenge!"

The Lehnstuhl Höcker, a footstool of the same style, is also available.
